Despedida

First of all I want to apologise because I know that it is too late to post this as I arrived to Spain three months ago but, it was very difficult for me to find the right words at the time I wrote the last post. I enjoyed a lot writing this blog for several reasons. For myself  because is a way to remember everything that we have lived there; for those who have read it and they’ve liked it and they’ve told me that they like it; and the last one for those who have gone mad with so many stories and all our adventures.  I want to confess that there have been many times that I have wanted to stop writing, but now I am very happy with the result and I do not regret having continued with this project.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It is time to say thank you too. I want to thank so many people that I believe that they deserve at least a couple of lines for having put up with me, having made me laugh out loud, having taken care of me or helping  and cheering me up in bad times and, at the same time, having taught me so much. For that reason I want to dedicate you this post and thank you one by one.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Paula, you’ve been the one who has borne me the most, you have helped me in everything you could and you have been the one who have got me out of the bed every morning without getting angry once in three months. You know that we already are family, we left a lot there and we will be back very soon.

Borja fuiste, eres y serás nuestro marido!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Borja, you were, are, and will be our husband! Although you were the first to break our marriage votes, you have taken care of us like the bear that you are even from the distance.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Inés you know that before the trip we weren’t got along very well (since I was very rude and you were a private school posh girl) but look how far we’ve got and how much we’ve changed. You gave me life this 3 months with your jokes and with our gossips.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Carlita, you’ve taught me to live to the limit and to enjoy each minute as it was the last. You don’t know how much I’ve learnt from you from the P.1 classroom with Ridwan and the others to outside the classrooms.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Angelín, I know you miss these two hyenas and their gossip because I do too. We have to have that dinner we’d talked about. I still don’t believe the outcome of the bet but, I know you fight for wining it  like a good Catalan.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Clara, the tweetstar, I have enjoyed to make you enrage aaaaall this time and mess around with your mental chaos. You are crazy if you think I am not going to Segovia to taste Merce’s potatoes!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lorena, we already met but I have learnt a lot of things about you that I didn't know like your accidents or your chaos in the... Hahaha that so many good times and laughs have given us.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lorena mother, we only stayed together one month but is enought time for recognise people involve and you and your family are like this and you must to be proud.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Stefania, we didn't start well but this changed quickly. We have had salseos very interesting and there were recorded. (If you want I can send it to you) and finally I have laugh a lot with you and I really hope you are as happy as the last days in Ghana.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lucía, mama fafa, queen or "descordinadora", I don't know what is your name hahaha thanks for everything without you we couldn't have go to meet all the great people that we have met and life this incredible experience.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To my classmates in the second group, you have a big place here for all that you have made me laugh and enjoy these three weeks together. "Xaxines" you know that we have pending a party in Palencia because I know we still have to hear a lot of "salseos", killings and all that you will have to tell us when you return hahaha. And thank you so much for take care of us sooooo good in the worst week in Ghana

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

After thank for all Spanish people that Ghana made me know, now it time to thank to everyone that we left there.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To our children, Mohamed and Saliman and their families, which now are ours too. For all that you have helped us in this last month and how grateful and beloved we have felt. We are going to see each other very soon, it’s more than a promise

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Saweila, my Ghana’s mum, you don’t imagine how I miss you here.  You took care of us very well and you put love in everything you do. I will still be your ‘bipomo’ because I want to and I will still mess with you every time we will talk on the phone. I know you are a great mother and you will continue raising your children as you have done so far, or even better and I love that.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Muni, I don’t know if you imagine how easy you did it to us. You taught us to dance, you bored us with your one-topic conversations, you were our motorbike teacher, you helped us with the children’s families, in the school, with the shopping and above all, you endured us everyday during 3 months that have now flown away. Thank you for everything and you know that you have a mandatory stop in Spain in you next trip to the Netherlands.

Inuuusah jajaj

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Inusah, you taught me a very important lesson: to be honest and to believe in yourself. Whatever they say you always have a smile in your face and you spread it wherever you go. Because…..Who stole the computer? Inuuuuusah hahaha

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

To all Savannah’s kids of our house during that month: Samsu, Ibi, Ousi, Rayan, Adam, Alidu, Titi, Yara, Samira... who loved us, helped us and gave us so much affection. I hope that they have felt the same with us.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I would follow and follow thank each one of the people I have met on this trip, all the people from Larabanga, both adults and kids, for believing in us, valueing our work and making us feel at home. To Evra, Dauda, Teacher Oni, Abusko, the teacher of the school (especially mine, Mr. Baa), to my children of Savannah and Wulugu who I would never forget in my life, to Daniela, Patrick, Denis and to the entire Atsiame community for getting involved in the project and helping us and loving us so much.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I’m even going to thank those people who have done that we spent some bad moments, because they have taught us to clear our ideas, to carry on and to get what was right to us.

I’m sure I am forgetting someone but I hope you’ll forgive me because everyone has been important in one way or another and I’m sure that everyone has taught me something valuable.

I only have one more thing to say…

                         ¡ANITUMAH!
